　　美国短毛猫的祖先是五月花号上的第一批猫，当初为了控制船上的老鼠而引进，至今他们仍然是捕鼠专家，热带草原猫是野性最高的猫种，许多热带草原猫跟非洲野猫只相差一代，所以美国有些州禁养这些猫，苏格兰折耳猫有独特的外形，因为咱们有折耳，而这是来自软骨缺陷，所以培育苏格兰折耳猫必须十分小心，波斯猫是世界上最受欢迎的猫种，他们的长皮毛非常华丽，有时候还被织成纱线，布偶猫是数一数二庞大的猫种......

每年有25,000至30,000头非洲像被杀害，几十年内，这种物种可能就会灭绝。目前非洲、中国、美国以及全球的相关非政府组织现在都加大了人力和资金的投入，共同打击非法的象牙交易和偷猎行为，非洲象保卫战有望扭转被动局面。
